Thinking of a cam... is the hrc kit worth getting ? reason I ask is I already have a pipe and an ehs racing lid. that knocks out 2 items that come with that kit, item left are a snorkel and joint breather tube and jet kit ( how big are the jets in the kit ? ) only thing left is the cam. I didn't know if I would be better off getting a cam by itself ? thanks

you could just get the cam, but i would buy the whole kit and use all the small parts them just sell the lid and the exhaust cap.
if you do i would be interested in the lid. keep me in mind

the hrc cam is a real nice top end drop in cam. I have on my garage work bench with less than a few hours on it. Because of the limited bottom end performance I no longer use it. Still, the HRC is considered to be the best top end drop-in cam available.

If your asking how big the jets that are in the HRC kit, then the answer is a 185 main with new needle.

Thanks for the info. I'm running a 180 right now , so that doesn't sound like much of a difference. not 200 bucks worth anyway.:ermm:

What cam did you end up running. I can't decide what cam to buy. I have a complete motocross set up. I am running a Sparks full system and I just bought a Wiseco 13.5-1 piston. Any suggestions?

well, I've ran stock cam, a HRC, and a Sparks agressive (really 02' crf) and the best out of those three for XC riding is in my opinion the 02' crf. My next cam is a Megacycle 801X2 mid-to-top for my 550r. Megacycle has three cams available for the 450r, a mid-top, a TT top, and a super top (heh).

hope this helps.

I agree with chad here, the HRC is a beast up top. But the low end in my opinion is weak. Thats why I'm going to be installing the sparks aggressive with the other HRC parts. If you want speed go with the HRC. My buddy had one and owned the uphill sand drags this weekend. I myself race and ride XC and want lowend.
