Hi, I see so many elka, ohlins, and works shocks on ebay for good prices, but what if they aren't set up for the right type of riding train? Does buying them and getting them re-valved still save me enough to keep them interesting? How much is a re-valve anyway? Thanks

revalves are usually around 200 or less for the front and around 100 for the rear... If you can find a good deal and get them revalved, they will work as good as new... When they revalve, they usually go through the shocks and replace all the fluid and gas, and some companies also replace any seals or bushings that need it as well...

A revalve can cost between $80-$150 depending on who you have do it. This may or may not include your valving shims! Also, if you need a new set of springs they are usually around $70 a piece.
