To start with Id say a 250EX. If your familiar with a quad and know how to use a clutch Id say the 300EX would be a good choice.

i started with a 400ex with similar experience as you. you just gotta go easy until you get your feel for the clutch.

i would get a 300 or 400ex , im sure you could handle a 400ex no problem as long as you have riidng expirence a 400ex is rideable

I'd go with a thumper, 400cc's or bigger. I'd only put a rookie on a 250ex or 300ex. They are underpowered. If muddkitten was a male, we'd never had heard those responses. Common guys! Some of these gals ride pretty durn good!

you think sportsman 400- pred is bad?

try mid 90s yamaha big bear(air cooled 350cc gutless) and 86 honda 200x (4wheeler, gutless too) to a 400ex. 1st gear feels like that honda winding out in 5th lol

what kinda ridin do u plan,,,1. for just trails and ridin with friends,....300ex, 2.trails ,plus alil track time and still ride with friends,,,.....400ex or z400 3.not as much trail ridin but all racin,if racin is what ur goin to do i would get a yfz or 450r, i don't care what anyone thinks,u can always work ur way up no matter how big it is. i saw a 12 year old ridin the heck outta a yfz. and my girlfriend is 14 barely over 100 pounds and is out there jumpin 80ft jumps and what not,but don't look at what quad u think is good to start ,look at what u will be plannin on doin, if u get a 300 and decide u might want to race alil u'll wish u got a 400,if u get a 400 and wish u had more power at the track u'll wish u had gotten a 450. but ur decision ,just my 2cents:cool:
