so the metal insert in the tank is spinning with the bolt? if it is you can pull that out and stick it in a vice....take the bolt out. then glue it back in. (had this happen ona crf450)

o cool another 450r site....now we have like 5. including mine.

I have the same problem, I couldnt get it out for anything. I have to take my tank off with the front fender attached. If you find a way to get it out please let me know.

oh and the reason for it getting stuck is from over tightening. make sure you only "snug" them..... or the bolt gets jammed in it.

i had the same prob awhile back after i rolled mine on its side, but its maily from overtightening them only use 1/4 dive then only snug them, the problem is honda uses the elcheapo brass inserts in the gas tank, the solution is if its under warranty honda will replace them they replaced my tank and fender b/c when i took the fender off it messed it up so i got a new tank and fender under warranty

I had the same problem. What you do is... pull the plastic over the top of the bolt, if you do it right it wont hurt the plastic. Then, get a flat head screw driver and the 8mm socket and a ratchet. Jam the flat head screw driver between the square brass holder (that the bolt screws in to) and the gas tank to where it wont spin. Then, losen the bolt.

i had removed and installed the fender like thatr once already to rejet my carb and on the next try to remove it it didnt mess it up bad but i got them to replace it thru honda, they told me there was alot of this so you should not have a prob, i tried them jam the screwdriver method to no avail,

when I had my cam installed by the dealer they had to pry the plastics off over that bolt and they wouldn't even put it back on. I asked if there was a way to fix that and the guy said I'd have to get a new tank. Some people just piss off, no one wants to work anymore.

ps. use antiseize and the right length bolt. easy to get confused when all fenders are off.:D
