Hood scoop

I just got a new hood scoop for my 400. Its just the cheapy maier one for a 250R. If anyones put one on their quad, let me know what to cut, or what stock plastic to leave on there. Kinda looks like a pain in the ***.

Is it a scoop like QuadTech or its it just the flat 250R hood. I never seen a scoop made by Maier. If its a scoop can you post a pic and info on it. I want one but dont want to spend $165 on a carbon fiber hood.
