I WAS LOOKING TO GET SOME A-ARMS, STEERING STEM AND THEN DOWN THE ROAD A SWING-ARM. AND I NOTICED THAT ALOT OF YOU GUYS ON HERE WERE RUNNING BURGARD. I SEEN HOW NICE HIS STUFF LOOKED AND HOW CHEAP EVERYTHING IS TOO.
BUT SOME GUYS I RACE AND RIDE WITH WERE TELLING ME THAT BURGARD WAS REAL THIN (LIKE THE TUBING ON THE A-ARMS). AND I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT EVERYONE THINKS ABOUT HIS PARTS AND HOW THEY HOLD UP, I AM GOING TO BE RACING 99% OF THE TIME. ON MY 250R I JUST GOT RID OF I WAS RUNNING EVERYTHING LONESTAR AND REALLY LIKE THAT SET-UP.

AND IF U HAVE ANY PICS PLEASE POST THEM, THANKS.

I'm kinda curious about Burgard's parts as well. I got my R stipped down ready to go to the powdercoater, and I don't feel like putting the stock a arms back on, so I've decided to go +2 and run the stock shocks. I only weigh 145lbs, so I figure I can get by on the stock shocks for now. Anyways, does $450 get you the complete a arms, balljoints, and tie rods?? Right now I'm debating between Burgards, Housers, and Eyeball engineering.

Joe a friend of mine has a cousin that used +2 w/ stock shock said it was better than stock a arms atleast. But that is second hand info.

I have burgard +2's on my 400 and love them. The tubing is not thin. very very durable. I beat the hell outta mine and have had no problems. As far as being ok with the stock shocks it depends on how wide you go and how you ride and weight. etc. You may be ok just stiffen them up alot untill you can send them out

I got the l/t's on my 450r and have 5 races and about 25 days at the track(with some nasty landings) and they are holding up great the p/c has some chips but that is to be expected.

The eyeball stuff looked like quality stuff to me. I would like to know why culookn said they were junk.

I do not know much about them. I was running Houser though. Good heavy built equipment. That was some of the problem though. HEAVY, and bad P.R. So I went back to what works. I am currently running a Lonestar +2+1 set-up.

Good luck though I am keeping my eye on this post. I have been looking at their parts they offer, for a swinger, anti-vibe, and a set of the beadlocks they have got.

I ran Burgard standard +2 a-arms and a +1.25 swingarm on my Z for a whole mx and hare scramble season with no problems and I can tell you I have had some bad landings and still no problems. I liked them so well I got all Burgard on my R, a-arms, swingarm and steering stem.
Go ahead and get the Burgard items you will not be sorry.

JRD's site says they use heim joints but I can't find a good picture. I remember my friend saying he busted a ball joint joint though during a practice session and had to run up to their shop to get it replaced. maybe he said something else???

yeah I know what they are. Those are DC4's in the picture

yea, hammertrax bent 3 ball joints so far, so he says (not bustin on ya man). I took a real close look at the JRD ars that day at "the pitt"

450 Racer R

so they have ball joints? no heims? I've never seen a front end use heim joints, the closest is the protrax system.

KSsandduner, I went with the +2 burgard aarms on my 450r. I like the a-arms, but the stock shocks did not work well with them. It actually made the front suspension a lot lot stiffer than it was before the a-arms. Everybody that I talked to said it should have softened the suspension due to a leverage ratio, but it was just the opposite for me. It will be rideable, but will most likely not perform the way that you wish it should. I took all the pre-load out of the front shocks and turned the compression all the way down and they were still stiff. With the shocks off, the a-arms traveled smoothly up and down.

Also, the a-arms were installed by a local race shop, so that wasn't an issue either. If I had done it, I could see where there could have been a problem.

Anyways, I've since had C&D racing rebuild all three shocks and the quad feels great now. I don't know if it will fit your particular application, but it was a cheap fix for me. Hope this helps.

Not trying to steer you away or to any particular product, just thought you might want to be aware of this.

all my burgard stuff is working great. the only problem i have is the bushings were made damn near perfect for the stock frame. when i pc'd my frame it took away any slack and the arms are toght...very tight. im going to ride it easy for a bit and let everything wear in, but this is my fault not an issue with the product.
