not to be a smart *** here but why get one of those when you already have a prodesign kill switch on your bike?

450rs dont have starters,

sometimes its easier to kill the quad to hit a button then having to unplug the thing and plug it back in.

Id agree with that easier to kill with that then to unplug something.

Where is that button available from? That could be a "stealth" button to use with a nitrous set-up.

yup i agree.. i have a kill switch but still i just stall it out to turn it off. That would be pretty nice, does it just go in place of the key or something?

I ordered it from Rockymountain Atv for $8.99 I think it was. Seemed cool to me.

On my 450 I hooked up the pro-d to the key and left the stock kill switch alone. You could just splice into the original kill wirespreety easy. And yes, it is much easier to hit a button than pull and remount the tether (lazyass americans we are:rolleyes: ).

I just bought a kill switch for my 450R since I went with the Works Connection perch with hotstart and removed the stock light/killswitch box. However, I got the stock CRF450R killswitch. It's rubbercovered and looks to be more weatherproof than the killswitch pictured. I spliced it into the stock killswitch wiring harness.

Once I got it on the handlebars I saw a problem. The only place to mount it so I could kill the engine with my hands on the bars was on the left side between the clutch perch and grip. With it rotated up enough to hit with my thumb, it was suspectable to damage in a wreck and rotated down it was in the way of the hotstart. I ended up removing it after all of the beautiful soldering I'd done and now I've just decided to use the key to kill the engine. My 1 1/8 bars prevent me from mounting it further down the bar anywhere. My tether kill switch is mounted on the outside of the clutch perch so there's no room there either. Once I get my R back together and practice before the GNCC season I may find a plce for it but for now I think it's best not to have a kill switch in a plce that can be broken during a race and cause trouble.

I use one of those for my starter on my 400ex, and just stall the motor with the clutch when I need to shut it down.....
