Between the wife and myself we have 12 tattoos. Most of them good sized. And there are a couple of rules we live by:

1. Never get a name unless it's your child
2. Never get something you are not 100% sure of
3. Never get a brand name (includling schools)
4. Never get anything too racy or overly sexually oriented
5. Never get somthing you are not proud to show.

I have flames up my leg from my ankle. Japanse writing for "Evil Will Depart" up my right leg. My family crest on my left arm and a larger dragon on my left. Plus the kanji for "Respect For Family" on my left and a red circle.

It has nothing to do with 'scanning your arm'. But a tattoo is for life. If you are going to get one, do it right. Why cut corners? That would be retarded. Bar code font is free all over the internet. I could download a copy into Word and be done before you got Photoshop started.

And for your information, your arm could be scanned. I scan bar codes done with ink pads on peoples hands when bar tending. That way I can tell who is 21 and who isn't without having to worry if they brought their own marker or copied it from a freind.

But that kind of techno knowledge may be above your sense of reason.

for most people tattoos are symbols that represent something in their life and it means something special to them. that's the reason i have the ones i do. and my tiger tribal that i am having put on my lower back represents something too. having a tattoo on certain places does not automatically make you a tramp or a slut. if you have a pic girl let's see it. if they don't like it they don't have to look. ;)
