The first number is how much wider each side will be and the last is how much further forward the wheelbase will be. It you race woods, go with +1+0 and 4-1 offset. If you ride recreation, +2+0 and stock offset 3-2. For MX use +3+0 and 4-1 offset. If you are want to race both woods and MX then get +2+0 and get a set of 3-2 rims for MX and some 4-1 offset for the woods. Hope the helps.

I've had elka and have axis right now. I haven't raced the axis yet, but the elkas I would recommend to anyone. Great shock!!

i run burgards +2 +0 on my 400 and love them. I will romp on the pretty hard and have had no problems. They hold up awesome and the quality and price are great

Does the extra length cause the front travel to go down because of the extra leverage on the springs? Or do they reposition the springs/shocks so that you still get the stock height?

No they stiffen the shock by revalving it. If you use a zero preload setup, it will be lower than stock.
