I am installing some Pro Pegs on my 450R. On the instructions it says that you can mount the Peg mounts upside down to lower your pegs. Question is and it is the same with the Peg mounts Up or Down Is the front part of the Tubing that goes above the frame rail supposed to have a large gap. Or should they fit securely together. There is no way they will come together. There is abouth 2-3in gap. You can see in my photos. Also Drilling the hole in the peg do you go all the way through so you can bolt on the bottom? I am sure you do but figured I'd ask before I start drilling. Check out these photo's and if you want additional photo's let me know.

that's how mine is... what hole are you talking about that needs to be drilled?

my white bros nerfs also have that gap and yes you have to drill all the way through the pegs. They should have given you a long bolt with a nylon lock nut for the bottom.
Is that thing like brand spankin new or something? The radiator is spotless and your head pipe isn't even discolored yet...

Thanks. And yes this is new. Only ridden down the street twice so far in the 2 weeks I have had it. What a shame. Going to Dumont Dunes soon though. Thanks for the info. I will go ahead and do the final install and put the nets on.

You need to drill to connect the footpeg to the shaft. Mine rattled alot even after the drill and bolt routine and i over tightened the bolts and snapped them. Got grade 9 on there now, no more problems:macho

I would locktite everything before that big ride. I lost 2 headpipe guard bolts,2 swinger guard bolts and doublecheck the 2 headpipe gasket bolts.

damn I've been riding mine for a few months now without that bolt in there. I got mine off ebay and it didn't come with any directions. I was wondering why I had so many extra bolts...

I rode mine a few times before I drilled the holes. Then I got sick of the rattle.

They need to be drilled and bolted straight through the peg, figure out where the end of the peg is inside the tube and drill about an inch in toward the bike or where the teeth of the peg don't interfere with tightening the bolt. Also it's a good idea to do the same where the nerfs connect in the front, these 3 bolt points will hold it together in case of a horrendous crash:D

Don’t use the size drill bit that the directions state to. Find one that is the same size as the bolt, it’s a tight fit but it keeps the bars pegs form moving at all. I drilled mine about an inch and a half back form the frame side, if I can rember right!!

Yea my front looks like yours, too
All so they are a pain to get to fit properly. Just don’t tighten any thing ill u get it all on. I had to take a hammer and dent in part of the bar to get it to clear the frame!!

But know I got the on I love them!!!!!!!!

The AC Pro Pegs on my YFZ have that same 2-3 inch gap . I actually had to get someone to help me install mine , cuz there was a lot of pulling and pushing to try and get everything to fit correctly in place . I like them so far , except that 3 welds on the heal guard plate broke off on the 2nd ride out ..... now I gotta pull these babies off and get it welded . I wish things would have had better craftmanship .... but i guess its true what AC stands for ... AC = Adjust and Cut) ;)

wow, i thought it was only the ds650 pro pegs that DONT fit at ALL....

when i first got mine i contacted them to tell them they sent me the WRONG mounts...so 3 months later (yes...3 MONTHS) i get another set...what do you know, the exact same.

haha AC= adjust and cut...so sad that its TRUE. I could not sleep at night if i was the owner of that company shipping out products that a 5 year old drew on cad program :(

i was screamin at them on the phone, even talked to the manager and he didnt care what i had to say. I simply told them that i will no longer purchase their products, and its only a matter of time before they go out of business because of poor design's and NO customer service.

my ac standard nerfs bolted up perfectly.. i think its mostly the ac pro-pegs having the problem. On the standards there isnt that gap either.
