i agree, a 250ex isnt designed and prob wont make most 50ft jumps or more. its more of a beginer atv.

yes a 250ex can do a 50ft table top my friend has one and he does it better then me on my ttr

ya ive made up my mind on a 250ex i dont wanna make fun of the 300ex or anything but to me they look crappy but that just my opinion i hope i didnt offend any1 because ive been told by my friends that 250exs are pretty much the same as a 300ex just the 300's have a cluctch and a chain. i wanna take a break from a clutch for a while. ya hondaexrider but elkas are rather exspensive arnt they?

all aftermarket shocks are expensive

i say go with a 300ex as well, that alone will give you a lot more travel, and more power

honsetly i dont think its worth it to pay that much for shox on a 250ex, I think it would be a better idea to just get a bigger quad....but since u said ur sure ur gonna get it i would say go w/ Works

Dual Rate w/o rezzy: $359.95 pair
Dual Rate w/ rezzy: $539.95 pair

i agree with the post above, buy a bigger and more suited atv. you like the 250ex but hate the look of a 300ex?? since when did buying an atv depend on looks instead of performance. you will spend more then its worth to make a 250ex even compete to a 300ex.

in all honesty man. i love my 250ex its great LITTLE quad. its fun for about the first year then u get sick of the power REAL fast after that. i find myself wanting to ride more aggressive and faster than the little 250ex can take me. it has ALOT of limits as to jumping and what not. its fun for messing around on but now after 3 years aboard my 250ex, i wish my dad would have gotten me a 300ex, thats why im gettin a 400 soon, just gota save some money and help my parents pay for it. the 300ex has more power suspension, handling, ect. also thier alot easier to modify to heII if you want. also i find myself wanting to ride my dads warrior just for the sole fact that it has a clutch.

check this out.. 6" widening kit. 400R tierods, 400ex shocks. Huge stability improvement. Depending on where you bolt the shocks to the a-arm and on the shock towers will determine how raised or lowered the front end is. Cost me $220.00 bux for all. I still want a 400 though :o

i really wouldnt have 220 bucks for that. i guess if thats what u want then ok but is it really that sturdy? it just doesnt look that sturdy with all the extra bolts and brackets. how much wider is it? looks like the tires are outside of the fenders.

It's way sturdy. Brackets are a little over 1/4" steel each. Kit is adjustable form 4" width to 6". Supposedly at the 6" setting it's the same width as a 400R.

hondaexrider - I got the bracket kit off ebay for $120, shocks and tierods were seperate.

Im not a big fan of works and i've owned pairs on 2 different quads maybe if they were valved were they were supposed to be it wouldn't be a problem, when i had my blaster they'd just go about full travel runnin through the choppienes of a field section at harescrambles yea i was pushin it hard but hey i bought those shocks to do that and they were no better than stocks in bottoming resistance about all they did was give the same stiffness in a less fatiguing ride. In my opion unless your a light person small quads aren't made for that kid of jumpin. I had to replace the frame on my blaster because i kept snaping footpegs those frames aren't reinforced enough and don't have enough travel to take those kinds of landings. Esp if you start to bottom out your rear shock on that 250ex you will be terrorizing that shaft drive rear end, and those aren't cheap to rebuild. Works will be a little better. IMO over time you will be happy with a exp bigger quad that won't break as much compared to the blackhole your 250 will be once you start jumpin it in that 50ft vicinity. After trying to mod my blaster and after repairing everything on it i spent $6,000 when i could of just bought something that can take jumps better (400's 450's)

by 400r you mean 450r right? theirs a 400ex and then a 450r. but the width of a 450 on a 250ex! thats insane but cool. looks cooler alot wider too.

Mine sits right at 47" wide front and rear. I flipped the front rims and did 1.5" front spacers and 3" rears. It has a little more bump steer than I would like but I can deal with it since it rails the corners almost as good as the 400 now. it actually jumps better than ever before too you just gotta be more careful about bottoming out.

After a year or two you'll get tired of your 250ex and want something more powerful, I did. It is a great 4-wheeler but it cannot compare to a 400ex. The only problem with getting a 400ex is, it is more expensive, thats why I got a 250ex. Instead of hitting 45 ft jumps on a 250 you can jump much larger jumps on a 400, and go much faster.

well, there was actually a guy on one of these forums selling works shocks 150 for front and 150 for back, dont know if he's still got them or not, but look around...i thought about getting the front but figured i'd wait to get them both at the same time

the only problem with gettin a bigger quad is if your a beginner it will take lots longer to get used to how 'big' it is...a 250 i good to start with but not much else

well if you are set on the 250 herrman racing has +2 a-arms and you can get elka frotn shocks with rezzies for 800 from DRI for the rear i dont think elka has a rear yet but i hear its in the works but you can get a duracrap axle to match the wider frotn end becasue no other axle company makes an axle for the 250ex so yea you should get the herrman racing plus 2 arms with elkas w/ rezzis and the elka rear coming out (you will definetlky need a rear shock casue the rear stocker jsut cant take jumps that good and is not very forgiving when you come up short

U say u dont want a 300ex cuz they are ugly and are about the same. A 250ex feels extremely slow compared to a 300ex. They so completely different. But then again a 250ex isnt likely to EVER die if u dont mess with the engine. I beat the fudge out of my recon, and it still ran like top when i sold it to some sucker.

I agree with Tony, If you dont mess withh the enginge they are very dependable. If you are willing to put the money into suspension on the 250 more power to you.. but a lot of these guys are right you will get tired of it eventually just from lack of power. I still have a blast on my 250ex, they are great for trails, wheelies, and jumps as long as they are not too big. I really like jumping mine it's very light and easy to handle in the air. But, i would rather have something a little quicker like a 300 or maybe even a 400, im sure they are just as dependable and just as easy to jump.
