Jordan,
To perform a more air less air test you must. Remove the air filter
from the air box and ride the bike, if this makes the bike run better
through out the mid range and off the bottom then lean out the needle one
groove. If that makes the problem worse then tape off 1/3 of the filter
surface and run the bike, if this makes the bike runs better then richen the
needle one groove.

Thanks

it sounds like it would work, but i wouldn't do it. what size mainjet your running? what is the stock mainjet? what are the mods on the bike? what is the temperature and elevation you live at?

I would not run the bike w/o an airfilter! That is probably the worse thing you could do to your bike next to running it out of oil! Granted it would probably work, but i wouldn't do it! I'm sure if you give your specs, cals400ex can get you close

ok well i am runnin a fmf megamax 2 exhaust,K&N filter, no airbox lid and thats it. when i bought my quad works preformance kit, it came wit the K&N filter, outwear and the dynojet kit. on the instructions it said to put jet #128 in. and to put the e clip on the 4th notch down onthe needle. right now its about 55 degrees and we are below 3000ft. and when i give it gas it boggs down. the bage jus have #'s. the biggest jet is #128 and the one down from that is a 124 and the 124 does the exact same thing. fuel mixture screw is at 3 turns. thats it. thanks cals400ex

can you do a plug check?

is it having problem around 1/8-3/4 throttle or 3/4 to full throttle? you don't know the stock size mainjet do you?

Try putting your clip in the #3 position and putting your fuel screw at 2 1/2 turns out.

it sounds to me like your having problems with the needle. i would adjust the clip position or change needles. i would probably try to putting the clip on the 3rd position. are you running a washer under the needle?
