Beautiful desert quad. Exactly what I would want if I was in the market for a new quad. Interested in a trade for a desert Cannibal?

Nahhhhhh.......building a YFZ right now, definetly don't need more projects.:D Just buy this one, and put the Cannondale up for sale. You definetly won't be sorry. It makes me sick to sell it, but the wife only lets me have so many toys at one time.

Definetly accelerates faster than my YFZ450. I miss the trans as well. Low 1st gear, and still scary fast in 6th. This quad could be easily converted over to MX as well. In fact, I'll throw in some 20in. fronts, and 18in. rears!

This bike could go for less with some equiptment changes. Example- swap AXIS shocks for WORKS.....drop price about $700.

Whats the weight rating for the shocks?Do you have a stock seat?

dawnchris
12-12-2004, 10:41 AM
Yes, I've got the stock seat, plus extra stock stuff....fuel tank, arms, etc. I've also got a set of MX tires for it as well. 20in. fronts, and 18in. rears.
The shocks are valved for 180-200 lbs. I'm actually about 225 in my gear, but I typically like my stuff valved softer than most, so I ask for valving for someone lighter. It's suprisingly adjustable. My 160lb buddy LOVES the bike.

Currently I run race fuel in it. It'll work fine with 1/2 race fuel 1/2 pump gas though. If you want to run pump gas always, it'll need the camber in the head replaced, or change out some gaskets. If that is something you'de want, I can take care of that. If you have "race gas" available at some pumps in B-town, it'll usually be 100 octane, which would be fine.

Nah dude sell the wife and keep that sick thing in your garage. There is no way I would get rid of it! You got way to much time and money in her to get rid of her!!!

dawnchris

I know, I know. But my YFZ is gonna be better. The big plus I have, is that the longer it takes to sell, the more she says--ahh just keep it.
It looks like I may need to race it for the first race of Jan. as I'm not sure if the YFZ will be complete and squared away.
The wife would like a nice lifted golfcart if anybody has one. A NICE ONE. No hoopties.
I like this one!

I don't really have other pics right now. I'll take some tomorrow and send 'em.
Here's the only other I have right now. I'm racing in the same area as this photo(Red Mountain CA.-District 37) on Jan. 9. Nasty, gnarly, rocky, whooped out courses. :D

not to hijack your thread but that looks like rough race course!

How many miles and how many laps?

Where is red mountain located?

dawnchris
12-21-2004, 06:17 PM
It's in So. Cal...just outside Ridgecrest. Near where the Hwy 14 and 395 intersect.
The courses out here can be nasty, but alot of fun. Most are around 30-40 mile loops, and depending on the race, the quads do 1 or 2 loops. 1 loop if it's a Hare and Hound (the second loop is too technical for quads) or 2 if it's a scramble (same loop twice). At least thats what the 2005 plan is.
This particular race had a number of gnarly technical for the quads. We came around a section only to see about 60 motorcycles bottlenecked in front of us. You know it's nasty ahead when the bikes are stuck. It took about 4 people to basically lift the quad through a 4 ft. drop into rocks. The front would just wedge into the rocks and yur stuck. Luckily they had people stationed there just for that.
The rest was mainly tech. rock stuff, sweet gnarly hillclimbs, sandwashes with 3-4 ft. whoops.....etc.

Here's another race pic. I'll post some more detailed quad pics tomorrow. I was running second overall in this pic. Nice roost, huh? This was with a 250cc motor...the 265 in it now is MUCH stronger.
