Asking all you MX guys that are using MX Holeshots what air pressures are you using front and rear?

I dont race mx but you could put like 2-4psi !!
i just put air until the tire is fairely flat and all the knobies touch the ground!!

I use 7 psi front and rear.

I run 12 in the front and between 9-11 depending on the track conditions. Less air = more traction and easier to tip on two wheels, More air = less traction and harder to tip on two wheels. Tire pressure is pretty critical.

sled-ed300ex, I guess you like to bend rims on 75 foot tabletops, Oh, but you're not a mxr racer, sorry!! One more thing ,.... Speak English Or DIE!!!

yeah u dont want to run 3psi on a mx track or u will bend rims 100%. you kind of want to run whatever is your best preference but in the neighborhood of 8-11 lbs

I run 10 and 10, which was recommended to me by Nate Leverenz for my 9 in. rims. it's worked great for me, havent bent a rim yet, and our tracks usually get pretty hardpacked by the end of the night.

Thanks for the info guys, that gives me a good starting point.

running low air pressure is probably the reason I have a large indention coming INTO the wheel, like a large rock went through the tire and hit the outer part of the rim and made a dent towards the center of the wheel. But I ride trails mostly so I run 4 psi to keep the ride from being too harsh.

For MX I would not run that low a air pressure or you will bend wheels like the other guys said.

I use Hi-per Rims. ( Dual Beadlocks) So for mx most of the time for my rear tires i run about 3 to 4 lbs of air.. works great.. and I dont have to worry about bending a rim. Up front is about 6 lbs. For what lil bit of drag racing Ive done. I run no air in my back tires at all. and up front i run around 10 lbs.

The air pressure you run in your rear tires doesn't have anything to do with bending your rims. The less air in your tires will give you more traction but more sidewall flex which makes the bike easier to two wheel. The more air you run the easier the bike will be to loose traction but is harder to two wheel. Tire pressure will vary depending on track conditions and soil types, but the best pressure is when you find a happy medium between the two. I will start out at no less than 5lbs. (because anything less will bend a rim) of air and if the bike keeps wanting to two wheel I will go up in a couple pound increments until the bike stops two wheeling and corners easily. Then you will have to fine tune from there depending on the terrain.
