I called FST today to inquire about their 500ex kit. Is anyone running one of these? FST said they have been selling this kit for years and that it is just as reliable as a 426, 440 kit. What kind of hp and torque does this kit make? Is there a downside to this kit? Is overheating a problem with this large a motor?

Thanks...

I have one and love it.
Check out chad502ex.com I think it is, if not just do a search for 502ex and I'm sure you will find it . He is a member here.
You will need a 8 plate clutch with cr500 springs. And a fst oil cooler.

Thanks so much for the comments. I truely appreciate it. Many hours were expended to provide information to anyone interested (free of charge too). I know that the site is a little outdated, but updates will begin again once my 550r rebuild is complete.

thx

the kit cost 800$ for stroker crank ( send in yours), piston, sleeve and head gasket

And you will need a second oil cooler to cool it down cause it does make alot of heat
