How wide would a 450r with +3 a-arms and 4-1 offset rims be?

Would I be better off getting +2 arms, and should i get +1 forward with either side?

Thanks... :blah:

then why is it that my buddy has +3 jrd arms with a 4 to 1 offset and his is at least 52, probably more.
the perfect set up would be +2, +1 foward with 4 to 1 offset on the rims. should put you at 49 3/4 inches.

I have JB +2 3/8" arms with 3+2 stock wheels. I am under 50". Right at 49 3/4" or so, so with +3's and 4+1 wheels, you would be fine.

i'm not quite sure about that.
you have to take into consideration the suspension sag and the rider weight on the bike, pushing the suspension down, thus making the front tires wider.
:eek2: just a thought.

Mine is sitting pretty low right now but I'm no heavy-weight. I weigh about 160lbs. There is a few things that can come into consideration when measuring but I know my setup is right around 49 3/4". Under 50" for sure.

hey bobbo, what width arms are those? and what offset rim are you using?

how wide would +2 a-arms and a 3-2 offset rim put you? would it put you right at 50" or so? bc stock the 450R is suppose to be 46.3" wide. i am not sure if that is front and rear or just one end of it.

So 4-1 is wider then 3-2, or is it the other way around?

They are the same width. 4-1 and 3-2 both add up to 5, meaning a 5" wide wheel. 4-1 means that wheel mounting position is 1" from the outside of the wheel and 4" from the inside of the wheel, hence 4-1 or 4+1 whichever. 3-2 or 3+2 means the wheel mounting position is 2 inches from the outside of the wheels and 3" from the inside of the wheel. If you use 4+1 offset wheels, your quad will be 2" narrower(1" on each side) than a quad using 3+2 offset. This is how you can get away with using +3 arms
