View Full Version : 400ex storage box tricks..

Ok. We all know the 400ex has no place except for the little black tube with tools in it to put stuff in. Anybody have any tricks to putting a *bigger* storage unit on a 400ex in a different spot like the front?? Pic's please if you can...

Reason being is that sometimes we go ride up in the mountains and the trails are far from the parking lot and I need something to put stuff in (a drink or two, car keys, cigaretts (sp, not mine, g/f's, map:confused:, etc)

I've strapped a small lunchbox sized ice chest to the rear grab bar on my 400EX & 300EX and it works fine.

Lately I've used a fanny pack strapped to the handlebars and it rests on the tank.

Either one work well but for storing drinks I would use a small lunchbox sized ice chest.

get some 4" pvc and cut to length to fit in between the front fenders, put ends on it that are screw on and there you have a tool box.

get yourself one of them 6-pack racks and strap a cooler down to it;)

if your just casual trail riding, why not buy one of them $5 fanny packs and where it backwards. or a small book bag.

Nah. I dont like anything on my back while im riding. Well i'd be jumping too. I need something removeable and that would withstand a beating.

ok just a thought, i dont like stuff hangin from me either but ive seen a few guys wareing that kinda stuff.

I have seen guys put another muffler on the other side. They take all the packing out and can fit a 2 liter of pop in there.

that would be sick,u could stash ur stuff and you quad would look trick w/ dual exhaust look
