i have a LRD pipe and silencer on my blaster and i've been having a problem with the rubber o ring in the LRD exhaust flange melting. i use high temp silicone everytime i put the exhaust together and have had no luck. does anybody have any ideas???

maybe there is a stronger high temp o ring somewhere???????

what kind of o-ring are you using? the exhaust flange o-ring should be a harder copper type, not the regular black o-ring type.
the copper ones should not melt but the black ones will regardless of what kind of high temp silicone you put on it because they arent made to withstand much heat.

there is not rubber o ring from Yamaha even stock. there is a metal exhaust gasket that sits behind the LRD flange, but that is not where the leak it. the leak forms where the expansion chamber slips into the LRD flange. LRD and Trenga claim this is a "slip fit" design that is light years ahead of all others.

i know what your talking about. my buddies banshee never had this problem with his toomeys. are you sure your jetting isn't lean?? i can't remember if my buddies trinity's blaster had this same setup or not. i know he didn't have a problem either. i was thinking there wasn't even one of these with his.
