Polaris Scrambler

[2001-400ex'er]

I have a 400ex right now and I kind of want a 4x4 and a sport fourwheeler. The only quad that has both these is the Polaris Scrambler. I am looking at the 500s because I dont want a 2 stroke. I have a few questioins first; Is it fast ( comparable to 400ex), reliable, 4wheel drive any good. thanks alot

dont no much...i have a 400 trailblazer...i like it alot for trail riding...as for jumping i cant stand it lol...actually im trying to sell it too....if u kno anyone who wants to buy an 03 trailblazer..tell em pm me for pics or email me at mentalathome@hotmail.com

oh and as for the 2 stroke part of my quad...its not bad at all...its fuel injected, so u dont gotta mix gas...and as for plugs it not to bad..and i run 93 octane in it

Do they have a selectable 4wd?

yes i am pritty sure the 4x4 is selectable my cousins is but his is a 500

The scrambler 500 is pretty fast, and yes, the 4wd is selectable. I have a 300 lb buddy who has a piped 500 scrambler that is just a little bit slower than my 400ex. They're pretty powerful, but the suspension sucks, and as with any polaris, be ready to shred some belts.

i was gonna say the same thing about the belts. Where i ride trails you often see a random polaris with a burnt up belt. I see alot of belts laying along the trails as well...

i havnt had a problem w/ my trailblazer about a belt yet...only thing is a wet plug n...thats about it...i like my TB...lots of power...if u gun it u better be leanin forward lol cuz it will come straight back...i like it power wise...other then how bad the throtle response is....he quads pretty fast too...i can keep up w/ my friend on his predator...o and ya the suspension sucks lol

How fast is the 500 four stroke compared to other sport quads.

My father had a 2001 Scrambler 500. He put an Aaen pipe and an Aaen clutch kit. In a drag race we were dead even through 3rd gear on my stock 400 ex. After 3rd gear I would start to pull away from him. The bike was nice, but he traded it in for a 2004 Polaris Predator. For his kind of riding, he loves the Predator. But, if you want a four wheel drive sport ATV, I don't think there any better.
