Help with mozilla and SP2

I just downloaded Windows Service Pack 2, upgraded to norton anti-virus 2005, and upgraded my windows media player today. Now i can't get my Mozilla Firefox browser to work. It worked fine then i got a virus or trojan or something, so i upgraded and got rid of it.

What do i need to do to make my mozilla work again. do i need to mess with the firewall, or something else. I am fairly computer illiterate so please use laymen terms.

o sh*t i had that tojan virus one time and it was a ***** to get off . You need to go to ur internet settings and redo everything make sure its connected

My IE works, but i have tons of pop ups, and an annoying banner add at the top of each web page after i d/l AIM. I just don't get why my IE works but Mozilla doesn't.
