It's above freezing right now ..... but there is about 5 inches of white stuff ...... it's beginning to look alot like winter . I'm almost tempted to strap my walking cast on , and go do donuts in the driveway/street . :blah:

our " first real snow" was on thanksgiving there was about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. I can't wait for the big stuff to hit!

We had our first snowfall I think back in late september .... and it's snowed off and on since then , but always melts . I have a feeling this stuff is here to stay . The temps were down to -20 Celcius lastnight .... but now they are back up around the freezing mark .... dropping down to the mid -20 celcius again tonight .

Go for it. We got an inch or two on Wed, but it melted way too fast.

Lazy man's way , is drive back and forth down the driveway so that the snow packs itself down . There's actually a reason behind doing it though . LOL . Reason being ... once we start to get more snow , the snowblower comes out of its summer retirement ..... and since our driveway is all crushed stone ... the snowblower has a base to ride on and not pick up all the rocks and throw then all over the lawn and side of the house . :blah:

I got a couple interesting pictures for you guys in a minute or two .... I really an a Honda rider .... which I totally forgot about .

Haha, i would do it the lazy mans ways too! Snow blower would be to much work! Did you learn the hardway to pack the snow before you run the snowblower ?

Give me a sec and i will name that quad! i gotta run outside, im at my bosses and he has one....i think its a mid 80s brb

LazeR
11-27-2004, 11:39 AM

I still shovel snow when there's maybe 5 or 6 inches of snowfall ... but when we get dumped on with a foot and a half .... the snowblower comes out . The snow is really heavy today cuz of the mild weather .... chit weighs a ton .

You're close ..... it's an 86 TRX 250 . It was actually my first quad i ever drove . I put that bike through hell and back , and it still run's perfect . I'm surprised the frame isn't all bent and broken ..... I aired this thing out HARD a few times ..... 8 feet up in the air on about 3 inches of shock travel .... HARD landings .

I bet that felt good when you landed! Is it the 250x motor ? Cause that would be different having a utility type quad with a 2 stroke engine lol! Has it even been rebuilt ? My friend had a 250x sport quad, and it had never been rebuilt, it sat in some guys garage for awhile, and he had it given to him, took it to a shop, they got it running, that thing ran pretty good for a 250, then it got stolen :(

I didnt word it right, im aware its a 4 stroke, my friend had one ;) I meant to say it would be weird if it had a 2 stroke motor, and didnt have the 250x!

Quad18star
11-27-2004, 12:00 PM
its the 4 stroke . LOL .... Just the utility model . It's our hunting / trail riding/exploring bike . And nope , it has never been rebuilt :eek2: but I'm sure it could use a major tune up and probably new rings . LOL . It doesn't have the power it used to have . Still does the trick for the old man though ..... he's happy with it . He just doesn't know that I aired it out so many times when I was a kid . And the result of me airing it out that much ..... I don't know if I'll ever be able to have kids ..... nuts smacking the tank SUCKS !!!!

LazeR
11-27-2004, 12:05 PM
Well, if you dont want kids that could be a good thing ? LOL Those 250x's are like tanks! My friend put that thing through hell, never checked the oil, and it always ran like a champ!

It's a true "beater bike" . The rear fenders are zip-tied cuz a stick decided to get lodged and crack the whole fender . The foot peg is bent up and backwards a little bit from when I nailed a HUGE rock ... it actually stopped the bike right then and there ..... I went over the bars . The exhaust is something my old man rigged up out of a 5$ exhaust can thats suppsoed to be used on sleds ( bit of welding and bending and it actually fit perfect) . Wheel bearings are SHOT !!!!!:blah:

Once the nearby lake freezes , we set up a track out there . Includes lotta tight twisting turns and we throw in a few table tops . Maybe this year one of 2 doubles for added excitement . :blah:

Sounds like it was a lot of fun though! The exhaust sounds pretty high tech, lmao, i can only wonder why it fits perfect after a little bending and welding! :eek2: Thats one thing nice about a honda though, put it through hell and it still keeps ticking!

It sure does . It's a good thing , cuz the bike sits in the back shed all winter and the battery stays in it . Some usually when I go to start it , the battery is dead . Add a little bit of "Quick Start" and she fires up in 1 or 2 kicks . I wish my 450 had a kicker ..... but not the stupid rear wards kick design that you can buy for the YFZ .... I like the forward kick.

actually there is a forum for it, and it would have been best to make a new thread.... You can do a wheelie however you want. I could just gas it and bring up the front in 3rd+
