is my stem bent???

aright if you look down the stem from the top..it moves from side to side about a 1/4 of an inch...is this normal or have i bent my stem?

thats what mine looks like (90' t-top crash), so yeah, i think its bent :ermm:

sounds like either a bent stem, or a stem bushing gone bad. does it just move from side to side play, or is there play when u push ur bars forward and pull back on them as well, if there's play all the way around i'd say it's your stem bushing. I don't know to much about 450R's but I know my buddies kfx400 eats stearing stem bushings, i would imagine it would have the same bushing as the 400ex thou. Just depending on how much ride time it has on it, it could be either one. Just my .02 Chino ~

the bushing shouldnt be shot yet. your stem may be bent.
