Well I went to start my quad and its about 35degrees outside. It doesnt even fire. I put my hand over the carb and it fires up but wont run to long. Once I take my hand off it suts off. Also I ran it last week and it ran perfect. I have no choke in my quad but I have a 42 pilot.

The next best thing to a choke is to pump the the throttle a few times to get some fuel in there before trying to start it. Then you'll have to work the throttle a little bit to keep it running for a few minutes.

I usally do every time I start my quad on a cold sart. But it still doesnt start or fire. I also ckecked my plug and its good and sparks is good. You think thats to small of a pilot jet because the air is alot densor?

Usually a 42 pilot should be fine for starting in the cold. I haven't heard of to many people going bigger than that on the pilot. Have you pulled off your float bowl and checked the jets for any blockage? If it ran good a week ago and there hasn't been a dramatic temperature drop, I would suspect there is something restricting the fuel.

Hey hondarider2006 what is your setup on your motor besides the 426. i mean like what else do you have. Also what is you jetting. Like main jet and fuel mixture screw. How long does it take for you to start your quad in the cold? is it a pain in the *****?

426 11:1 bore with a mild port and polish, hotcam stage II and a magnum rev box. Carb is stock, but bored out and choke removed. Mj is a 175 and pilot is a 42 with about 2 1/2 turns out on the mixture screw. I HAD 0 starting problems until I fried my battery on the charger last night:o Pump the gas a few times and she would fire right up and run strong:macho

I had to pump the hell out of my 400ex to start in the cold, then it would fire and die, then I would pump it more, eventually it would run on its own. Z
