A definitive answer on putting 400ex plastic on 300ex/250x?

I have searched and searched for a thread on this topic but I have not found one that says anything more than yes it can be done with some modification. Can anyone give me a true answer on what needs to be done to make this work? I just want to do it because I have some extra 400 plastic and the 300 plastic is too darn expensive. Thanks.

I'm not really sure what needs done, but I almost bought a 250X that had 400EX plastic on it. It was really nice looking! Good luck!! ;):)

yes i have saw it done on a classified add site but i might be able to get the URL i dunno i forget what the site was but it was Yellow 400EX plastic on a 1987 250X or maybe a 91 or 92 but there all the same anyhow jus the 300 has a lil motor work but can anyone tell me why a 250X is faster than a 300EX ????

I'm am very certain it has been done by a mamber of this board, If i had to guess...maybe it was QuadFamily...although i haven't seen him on latley (i don't think).

Yes it was Quadfamily. He sent me an email telling me how he did it and yes it is possible according to him.I was going to try it but decided not to.

It can be done. Quadfamily a member and moderator of this site has done it to his son's 250X. PM quadfamily on directions on how to do it. No one offers a kit, you will need to fabricate mounts for it.
