the trick is the part has to be as smoooth as possible. you can strip the paint of or sand it off its up to you. what i usally do if the part is pretty rough casting is grind it smooth with a scotchbright pad on a die grinder. then i strat with about 600 grit sand paper and go up to it is completely slick. the key is to have no scratches left from the last sand paper you use. you will probally want to go up to about 1200 grit. then i use a buffing wheel with some rouge on it. it works very well. but a cheaper way is to use mothers aluminum and mag polish. its cheap and you can rub it in with a cloth by hand and the results are pretty good. you can get it at wal mart and its only like 3 dollars a can. hope this helps, get ready to spend some time though working on the pieces.

I used NeverDull and it works pretty good, but a lot of rubbing. I would recommend a buffing wheel.

On parts you can take off like the throttle cover the master cyl. cover ,starter cover ,and the oil filter cover take them off (make sure you remove the gaskets or o-rings oil cover, and save them)! next step sounds crude but it works!! let the parts set in brake fluid for a couple of hours clean with soap and water after the paint wrinkles up...the paint will come right off!--lightly sand smooth with 600 grit sand paper then 2000 grit next light rubbing compound and then polish with a good polish my favorite by far is flitz its what show car guys use for there stainless trim and jewelers use for rings it really brightens it up!! other parts that cant be taken off start with 220 grit to remove the paint then 600.....and the rest of the steps i just polished the side cases on mine on the bike the round circles on the sides only (where it says honda)it looks good it would be to hard to polish the whole case witout removing the case halves! hope this helps you out some.....later!! :devil

Aircraft stripper is the easiet. Spray it on, let it sit and hose it off, bare metal is all you will have. It is also a powerful tool for revenge.:p

I use Heavy Metal Polish...it works pretty good...and it comes in three different "grits", from red to blue..blue is for chrome and stuff thats already polished, and red is for the stuff that hasnt really been polsihed yet...green is right in the middle of those..
