I have an all black 300ex and i was thinking about powdercoating my frame lime green. Does anyone have pics of either this color scheme or just a lime green frame? Any ideas on how this would look? Thanks

Pappy you have a flourescent green color right? What is the best way to ship a frame and how much does it cost?

Sidenote: how long will it take me to completely disassemble the quad? Should I be able to do it well if i stay organized?

Pappy

yep i can get it.

disassembly can take a few hours to a few days:eek2: sometimes things dont come apart as easily as they should. take your time, label and bag everything and you should be ok.

first as always, you should check locally and compare pricing.

if you decide you want me to do the frame, you need to ship it via UPS or thru the US Mail (yes they actually ship frames)

prices will vary depending on how big a prick the counter person wants to be. usually a 400ex or the like rns about $22 from NJ

u will prob go with ups, as far as price will depend on where you live and where u send it

do i have to wrap it in anything or just secure the subframe inside of the frame?

Pappy

most send the sub frame inside the main frame. when returned they will be seperated and properly packaged.

but can i just bring it there or do i have to package it somehow?

Pappy

i recieve them both ways. it will depend on the UPS agent as to wether they will accept it unboxed. most folks tape cardboard around it and send it

Thats to bad your not in Cali. The guy that does my coating has a box of florecent green sitting there that somebody bought had some wheels coated by it and then just left the box there ... he coated me $120 for my LT project frame and misc. parts...
Included is a white base followed by the Florecent green and then topped with clear.

I just got my LT frame done Florecent orange with some misc. parts in the same color.. and a bunch of parts done in gloss black for $200. This is a shop.

m250r it cost me 10 bones to ship my frame to pappy,it might be more cause on the 300 no removable sub,so i would say right around 25-30 dollars, and it is very easy to disassemble the whole quad,it gets very easy after the first time;)

300exrida- it doesnt have a removable sub? is it really that hard to disassemble it if i take my time and label everything? Is there any time where im going to have to get like really "deep in the engine"? Thanks

JDiablo

no nothign to do internally with the engine,i would say the hardest thing to do is take the damn engine outta the frame, lol it is sucha tight fit,if you label everything it is cake, just take your time get a permanent marker and alot of bags and label everything, and no removable subframe,i can tell you every bolt on a 300ex if you wanted me to,and for the wiring don't sweat it,they are color coated so you wont have a problem there

m250r

cant i just leave the wiring complete? the engine will come out and i can just leave the carb on it and everything like that right? 3

Pappy- I NEED YOUR ADDRESS..you'll be expecting some parts from me soon:D

How much for my frame/subframe, throttle, and hubs? Let me know.

JDiablo

no you will have to take some wires off ,but other then that it is cake

ive got a manual too so if all else fails ill just resort to that...how long did it take you to take it apart the first time you did it?

JDiablo
11-25-2004, 09:49 PM
it took me about 3 days with 5 hrs a piece in i didnt wnat to screw up so i took my time, now i can completly disassmble a quad and have it back toghter in a day and a half and if things go smoothly a long 10hr day

m250r
