yea everytime i put my quad on the grabar to clean it i look at my swingarm skid and its all goujed (sp) and scratches and could only imagine what would have happened witha a stock swingarm skid but i run a pro armor which is jus as good and is a site sponsor i think

if you ride in alot of big rocks then yes they are. if you ride in sand or are doing MX than I don't think you need them. the best way to tell would be to look at you Aarms if they look like they have been taking abuse get guards. :chinese:

Ohh yeah tires...

ITP Holeshots hook up pretty good, about the same as Razrs or so I heard. But I do know by experience that holeshots last a long time....

Dont get 6 ply, get 4 ply

heavy tire = less power

PRM .190 skid and Kenda Knarly's

397ccEX
11-24-2004, 03:31 PM
How would the .125 a-arm skids work? PRM or .190?
Cause theres a big price Diff
How about the .250 swing arm skids? PRM or .190

jhr400EX

I have the .250 PRM skid and I haven't been able to put a little bend in it yet. I would imagine the .190 prm would still be plenty strong enough.

Seeing as how the skid is that thick, yes it may not bend or crack as easy, but that makes is so your swing arm does;)

If you have ever seen the razr2's in person, the look pretty much speakd for themselves, haha. They look like there're ready to come up and bite you!

if you are short on cash and have the tools to do it with you can make a skid plate yourself. I found a big plate of 1/4 steel and cut out a pattern with a chop saw and drilled the holes out with a drill press. The extra weight didn't lug down my 250 at all.

meh, the razr's don't hook up that well imo. we have a ds650, and with the stock tires on it, it was OK. put those razr's on it and the damn thing wont hook up, whips the back end around too easy, too.

the ITP will last a little longer then the razars will they dont wear as fast. normaly a set of tires will last you a year and little longer as long as your not ridin on the road and spining out on the road.

397ccEX
11-30-2004, 07:49 PM

i would say axe racing skids are by far the best , foam lined rails and resessed bolt holes .:D

littleugly03
12-01-2004, 08:10 AM
I still think AC are a little better but we all have different ideas so it's more like we get what we like and hear so much about. I think the axe racing skids are pretty good i have nothing agains them. ;)

I recieved one the other day, and I have to say the blue anodizing is pretty trick!

the foam lined rails and recessed bolt holes are definetly nice as well. makes me glad I sold the AC!

as for tires. the Razr2s will last a heck of a long time, I've never ridden a set of holeshot HD's, but i know the XCRs cant compare. They are both going to be on the heavier side since they'll be 6ply.

don't mind the little twirp Rich, he's my kid brother in indy and has no clue what he's talking about specially since he's never had or seen a ac skid in his life which i personally feel as if there crap so i dunno how he can say whether or not they actually compare to yours even, he's just pretty much put himself in with the majority of the other kids that run around here letting crap roll off there tounge talking like they know what there talking bout seeing how he's never owned neither razers or itps to even compare either so what is he basing his oppinion on :huh

i'm done for winter so she's parked plus she needs re-ringed and i wanna get the crank out and take down to Laz for a little machine work :uhoh: but that's been put on hold for a couple months so i probably won't be back up and running until spring
