why are 2 strokes faster than 4 strokes ...how come a 350 2 stroke will smoke a 350 4 stroke....wat makes them faster

because every 4cyle of the piston in 4strokes u nkow like intak, compression and power the 2 stroke does all that in 2 strokes making the power come out alot fast giving it more acceleration :D

It's all in how the power is made. A two stroke can make two complete combustion cycles to every one a 4-stroke makes.

a 2 and 4 stroke r just that....a 2stroke gets power every 2 strokes,hence the quick acceleration and a 4 stroke gets power every 4 strokes,hence the smooth power...i think:ermm:

someone should make a 3-stroke, the power of a 2 and less invormental whores then a 4 :p

its impossible to have 3 strokes

think about it, with an odd amount you are gunna be constantly changing the position of the piston for the intake stroke.

3 and 6 are already made. Don't ask me how though.

A 3 stroke is essentially a rotary engine like in the new Mazda RX-8.

Rotary Engine Working Diagram (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/rotary-engine7.htm)

2-Stroke Working Diagram (http://science.howstuffworks.com/two-stroke2.htm)

4-Stroke Engine Working Diagram (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/engine4.htm)

These diagrams show animations of how each of the engines work. Pretty damn cool if you ask me .....

yeah there is a 3-stroke motor. there is another type other than the rotary motor too but i can't remember.

There was a post on here a couple months ago about a six stroke engine. I will see if I can find it.

This is a page talking about how it works. Pretty cool
