View Full Version : how do you change the main jet?

do you need any special tools to get to it? where is it? and do i need to pull the tank?

takes 5 minutes dude. look under the carb...theres a 17mm nut under there. take that off, make sure the gas is off. the jet is sticking up in there. you may want to put a rag under there to catch some gas that will flow out. i think its 6mm for the jet. watch though, DO NOT tighten it too much, nor cross thread it AT ALL. the jets and the threads in the carb are very dleicate. hope this helps.

tools required:

17mm wrench
6 mm small socket
a rag
patience

*no need to take anything off. you may want to pull out the idle screw form the little holder, that gives you more room.

just loosen the carb and twist i toward you. us the drain valve to extract fuel neatly, its the small slotted inset screw on the carb, the drain tube is right there too, very easy once you take a good look and think about it... once the fuel is drained be easy when tighting the screw valve again you can damage the seat.
