Ahhh good ol T' day :) we will be going to my mom & dads for "turkey lunch" then go up to the inlaws for Turkey dinner :blah: JUST WHAT WE NEED 2 MEALS that day :rolleyes: This is kind of a special Thanksgiving as the last 5-6 my mother in law has not been able too cook or really do ANYTHING due to being on oxygen 24/7 w/ emphasema BUT she got her double lung transplant in March & now the woman could probably run a marathon it truly is a miracle if I've ever seen one :) You would not believe she's the same person she was last year @ this time she couldn't even walk :( but it's ALL GOOD now!!! So needless to say she is chompin @ the bit to cook her dinner she used to be able to cook!! She's pretty stoked about the holidays all together we really didn't think she would be w/ us this year, just goes to show God works in mysterious ways :)

Then that weekend we will be RACING!!!!

My family and my parents are going to my brother's place at Lake Norman in North Carolina. I've been the turkey deep-frier for the last 3 years but since my brother is handling it he's either buying one of those complete Thanksgiving dinners from his local grocery or he's making reservations at a restaurant:( Thanksgiving just isn't the same when the food's not home-cooked.

What a couple of your favorite thanksgiving dishes that your mom/ grandma/ aunt, etc cooks for all of you at thanksgiving?

My aunt would always make mashed sweet potatos, mix in diced pecans, put it in a baking dish, cover it with minature marshmallows and bake it in the oven. Dam I miss that!

my mom makes this stuffing with little chunks of apples in it...omg it is to die for! of course i cover it in about a gallon of gravy.

green bean casserole is amazing too. i only lightly gravy this item.

and SGA my mom makes those sweet potatoes too! thats the only thing i dont put gravy on besides pie. its soo good
