Ok so the CRF 450 carb is a 40mm Flat Slide but I don’t know how big the air horns are on it. It seems by looking at pictures that it doesn’t use special air horns that the carb body was made to just work with the engine boot. So anyone with a CRF450 and a 400ex could really help us out, since right now you can get a CRF450 Carb from Honda new for under 350$ So someone out there help me out, Also the 450 carb would offer us better venting when doing a wheelie or jumping over the current FCRs that are from street bike applications.

i'm sure the 450 carb will have different wire hookups so i don't know what it wuld dowithout these if it has any

I believe those wires are the TPS Throttle Position Sensor since the 450 has a CDI that works with the carb for better throttle response. I think the carb would work with out it.

but then what about the accel. pump.i'm sure the 450 uses more than the 400. so ypu have to tune it

i wonder if this would work also. id be interested in it if it did. but i bet for some reason it dont because the engine builders dont do it but i could be wrong.

I know that it can be done because ive seen it. The local mech did this to his 400 and ive seen him rideing it aroind the shop when he got it done. Dont know what was involved and he wont tell but it can be done.
