Turbo Charger for 400ex!!!..50HP!!

Normally I'm not one to quote magazines or other people for that matter, but I picked up the new issue of Dirtwheels and they did a review of a company that produces Trubo Chargers for the 400ex and the Raptor. On the dyno chart, they claimed it produced about 50 HP with a stock motor!! Imagine a strap on component that doubles the horspower...WHOOT..although $3500.00 is a big chunck of change to plop down, and I can't really say it's been proven...it's be nice to have to try it out. I wonder how well it would hold up to hard-core MX style jumping? Probably not real good. Anyway, if you get a chance, check out the article. MORE power.......mmmmmmmm.

Turbos have been around a while, I first heard about the Turbocharged 400EX probably back in 2000. I dont know if a turbo would be that great for MX racing because of the way a turbo spools up, the low RPM power isnt really there. It would be great for Dunes and such tho, IMO.

yea, they had one for the raptor too, 70HP!!! Just imagine having a trinity 720 kit, which produces 70HP, and then putting on the turbo!!!! that would be crazy:devil

Yeah the power increase is there but look at the were the peak power is. Stock 23.9 @ 6900 rpm
Turbo 51.8 @ 8400 rpm
I would hate to have to be around that rpm all of the time just to get the power benifit.
That's just my $ .02 worth.

if u can do that to a shee, imagine a 400 powervalve/ piped, carbed, ported, and then turboed

What does this do to the reliability of the motor with a turbo. Will it kill the motor fast?
