The dude before me cut the snorkal off about 2-3 inches from the airbox. Well i want to get the full one that goes to under the gas tank. Will i have to rejet when i get the full snorkal?

Take it off, fill the hole with frosty beverage can of your choice. Some work better than others.

I had the same deal on my 250r. I was running them but had to remove part of it to install my ESR cr250 ignition. I race xc so I didnt want mud and water getting in, so i made a outterwear for it. But with the outterwear on it would'nt run for anything, so i just have to run it open with half the snorkel. But if you put a full one on there I wouldnt think you would have to rejet it.
i am planning on making a snorkel for my 400. as it is (stock) when i hit water at a fairly high speed it stalls the engine. so im going to relocate it using PVC pipe. I plan on it coming out directly in front of the little u shape infront of the front right fender. its only going to be about 4 inches taller than the front fender, but will be turned backwards with a 90 degree elbow so it shouldnt stall. wont look that great, but will be easy to remove when i dont need it.

Quit running threw water in 3rd gear! lol, I have done that before on a Fourtrax 300, fun stuff.
I also do that on the dirt bike and it drowned it, I pulled the foam filter off, wringed it out and put it back and it started right back up for me lol.
But, was the quad jetted for no snorkle even? I don't see how the hole in the box alone is going to give you much better flow than having the snorkle anyway, and if its stock and never been jetted then it won't make a difference. But I would put it on and if you don't notice a difference then don't worry about, you could check your plug to see if its running too rich.
yeah, i have a set of 22" bearclaws that i throw on when its muddy, i can throw a rooster tail about 30ft high

i think its the stock jet now. Ill get the snorkal and check the jetting. and see how everyting works out.
