hey guys, wanted to know what are the pros and cons of running a +1 steering stem.. I see it becoming more of a popular mod... is it really worth it?? thanx.:rolleyes:

Really no con that I can think of. It just raises your bars 1 inch higher. In my case, I preferred the CR low bend vs high bend bars, so I bought the 1+ stem to make up for some of the difference in height that I lost by going with the low bend.

edz250r is correct. the main reason is for rider preference and comfort. albiet aftermarket stems are supposedly stronger then stock there really isnt much advantage in installing one as far as increased performance.

now if you buy one with adjustable steering stops to suit a particuliar need thats a different story

Most use the +1 stem to help clear large tanks.

^ what he said, I had to get one to clear my oversized tank. But once I got it I reliaized how much more comfortale it was over stock. So really pro of them, clear XC tanks, more rider comfort, and if you buy a antivibe smoother ride.
