I took my master cylinder off of my Z to paint it because it was starting to corrode. After installing it back on the quad, I cant seem to get it adjusted right.
Here are the components from the top to the bottom"
Master cylinder
top nut
2"-3" shaft
middle nut
bracket the pedal attatches to
bottom nut.
Now I *think* the bottom 2 nuts, one on either side of the bracket that hooks to the pedal, are for adjusting the pedal level...right? The top nut I think is for adjusting the "play" in the plunger before it accually "works" the brakes.
The problem is that when all of the nutes are loose, the shaft itself spins freely, it this supposed to happen? Should the top nut be tight up against the boot on the master cylinder?
It must be confusing for you guys to understand what I am trying to say here but give it a try and see if you can figure out what I mean. I was hoping that one of you guys has gone through the same thing that I am and that it can be easily explained. Thanks very much.
