View Full Version : 450R shocks on a 400

can i buy a pair of stock 450R front shocks.. and get them on my 400ex? can i take the bushings from my 400 shocks and put them in the 450Rs and fit them that way? anyone done this yet?

hey i kinda need fast responses im gonna buy these shocks this week .... any help would be a lot of help

You can make them fit with some grinding on the upper shock mount. But the stroke, valving and spring rates are different and will cause problems in the future.

I can't understand why people always want to put the wrong part on their quads. If the 450 shock was made to go on a 400ex it would be on a 400ex not a 450!!!!!

well lets see.. the 450 shocks are brand new.. theyre better than stock 400ex shocks.. i broke the works i have right now.. i dont have time to order other shocks.. and ive ridden a 450R and the front suspension is really nice and id like to put it on my 400..so why the heck not!?

Because it's not gonna fit correctly and like Jeff said, it can cause problems in the future like maybe a bent shaft or something. It's your stuff so, do what you want with it. Just be careful. Good Luck.

if you just need them to hold you over before you get new works i say do it but yea be careful
