Is it really needed? I have never had my fan come on yet and I have had my bike since they came out. I was the first one to get it from a large dealer here.

i have been trying to figure out the same thing. can't be to cool on these 4 strokes. i'm going big cc and high comp soon so i would like the extra protection.

The 450r uses a thermostat just like cars, IMO I would go with a bigger radiator if worried about heating up from bigger cc's.

maybe for around fifty bucks but 165? c'mon now, how can they charge that much for that!? i wouldnt buy it

I just go an email back from Boyesen and they said it will not work. But they said look out for TRX SuperCooler Kit.

with cars people do remove the thermostat to get continuous flow, that and a radiator would equal a frosty cold motor... hahahhahaahhaa
