I have a pic that was taken with a digital camera. I have loaded it and saved it to my PC. I want it as my avator but when I try to select it, a message says it is to big. What steps do I need to take to make it work or can I? Please help!

if a message comes up stating your picture is too big what else would you do other than resize it? seriously - come on now. it doesn't get any more self-explanatory than that.

I have tried resizing it on microsoft word, paint, and other software but it still doesn't work!

Irfanview is the program I use. Its very easy to do on that program.

Like I said earlier you can send it to my email.

keep in mind you may have to reduce the quality of the file when you save it... the physical size of the picture is NOT the only variable that effects file size (which is what it could be talking about)... there are file size limitations too!

I don't either, it works for me. I know the jpeg one works. Are you linking it from my site or have you downloaded? Download the pic then save as your avatar.

I just right clicked on it; saved it to my pictures; went to change avatar; clicked browse then; selected it

.bmp and .jpg files don't produce that much of a difference

oh yes it does!

Go take a .jpg and save it as a .bmp, then check the file size! Then take any .bmp and save it as a .jpg and check the size again...
