i have the stock shocks on my 02' 400ex and i want a new pair. I was thinking of elka's or a those new fox racing air shocks. What do you guys think about those fox racing air shocks?

Only thing I've heard about the Fox shocks is from what John Natalie said: They're not bad, but they're not cutting it for me. I would stick with the elkas.

Anything aftermarket will be better than your stock stuff. It all comes down to price. Works are good if you are on a budget but then again the elka economy stuff is really reasonable.

The Elite elkas won't let you down if you can afford em.

Ohlins are pretty good but for the same price you can have a better set of Elka's!

I think it really depends on what your intentions are.. If you are going to be racing every weekend, then drop the money for a nice set of Elka, PEP, or Axis.. But if you are going to be say, trailriding, and are on a budget, I am sure Works would probably be fine...At least alot better than stock..

PEP, AXIS, and ELKA will all perform similar, but the reason why elka stands out is the excellent customer service you get, the reasonable prices, and the wait time for the shocks are really short ( you get them within 2 weeks ussualy). Axis also makes great shocks, but they have a longer wait time, and the prices are much higher. PEP makes awomse shocks, but the customer service could be better, and the wait time on the shocks is at least a month, some have waited 6 months. It all comes down to which choice you think is the best.
