Nice to see someone else from AK on here:cool:

As far as the poping goes, have you rejetted yet?? If not...call up C&D racing, and get yourself a 152-160mj's and a 42 pilot. When they come in, start at the 160, install the 42 pilot and go about 2 1/2 turns out on the mixture screw. Do a plug test and see were you are at. You may think that its fine, but you may find that the 155 is a little better. If you want, you can removie your choke and gain a little throttle response. I have it done on my carb, and have 0 starting problems. PM me if you need any help with this stuff man.

Do you have any exhaust leaks? If you do, this will cause popping and backfire almost every time.

You can use a high temp sealant or you can do it right and get a new crush gasket for your pipe and tighten it good.

Popping usually means a lean mixture, but sometimes a rich mixture (if the carbs are over emulsifying the fuel it can cause some really weird symptoms). If you downshift and let go of the gas, that is the pilot circuit, if you hear popping when doing so then your pilot is probably to small. If you do the same thing with 1/4-3/4 throttle, that is your needle clip posistion in your slide, raise the clip to lower the needle and lean out the mixture in that RPM range, and the same goes for full throttle.

Hope you fix it up.
