seat latch

is there a way to custom make a seat latch for my 400ex to replace the stock one, like the race style with pins any pics?, or a good place to buy them, please let me know i cant find anything

what i did was drill a small hole in the part of hte latch that clicks and put a pin throught that...saved my seat and fenders once

thats a good idea but i wanna do away with the stock latch completly

i make them for z400s it is the pin style. i never put one on a 400ex but im sure with the parts it comes with you could make it work. if there was any 400exs around here i would make a kit for them but i dont know any one with one so i cant. i sell the kits for $15 shipped. ive sold many many of them for z400s

if you can figure out one for a 400ex i will take one, i can give you the dimensions of the bolts and holes if you want, let me know, thanks

is the 400 basically the same as the 300 for the rear seat set up because i will make it for the 300 and then it should work on a 400 unless they are drastically different

i think its the same as a 300ex, the post holes are 6" apart center to center, the 10mm bolts on the bottom of the seat are 1' & 1/2 apart and 1" & 5/8s top to bottom. let me know

I believe OMF makes an aftermarket seat latch the way you guys are talking about.
