how do i know were to ajust the clutch to were it should be

i kneed to ajust my clutch to the right spot

i adjust mine until i can pull the lever inward about 1/2 inch or so before it gets tight and starts to pulling the cable.

Clutch lever as in adjusting the tension on the clutch cable. Or going inside and adjusting how the clutch engages and disengages?
