A few where built, but it's a waste of money. Either keep the R motor, or buy a new 450 frame.
Maybe if you race TT the 250r frame would hold up.

I wouldn't do it to a stock frame. I will be putting a YZ426 in my Laeger R frame...

If they phase out 2-strokes, Like is happning!!! there is a guy in our area, who run an Ariens frame and has his R tricked out for woods riding. He even wonderd if he could send his frame back and have them make it where he could drop a TRX450r motor in it!

I dont know if that will work or not, But thats the future plan!!! Anyone think its possible or not

possible yes, i dont know what it would cost or even if they would be interested but it would be nice b/c then you could pick up these 250r parts alot cheaper than new 450r parts!

I saw that ECA put a YZ engine in an Arens frame...

CRF engines are too tall for an R frame, which is why I opted for the YZ..

there is guy in our area that runs a 2001 Arens 250r, And that is what he was wondering about the Hondas 450r. Do u think it would be possible to send his frame back and have him try to get a 450r motor into the frame??

This is a hot topic in the 250r world right now do to 2strokes getting phased out. I have searched everywhere for an answer and haven't found it. Like many people with a 250r, i want to sell my motor and put a high performance 450 motor in my stock frame. I don't have the extra $2-3k to go buy an aftermarket frame, swingarm, and no link shock right now to do the conversion, but do have friends that are very skilled with a cutter and welder.

I called Eastcoast atv and they said they 250r frame is to short for the crf motor. I then called Arens about a custom 250r frame, just to get some info, they said they make basically a 400ex frame and then I have to buy the conversion kit from eastcoastatv to finish the job. I then met a guy at a local track and he was running a crf450 motor. he said the motor goes right in with very little work. of course he was running an aftermarket frame.

Has anyone actually done this conversion? or know someone that has? Or has anyone done a YZ motor?
