Can this be done? I know the fronts will work, with a small amount of grinding but what about the rear? I see them going on ebay as an entire set. Anyone ??

thanks in advance.

I think I would stick with the 400ex rear on the 400

They actully dont fit! The rear Rezzi is a bit to big, and it hits the Cases on the 400ex!, But the fronts do fit, and would be a great improvment over a 400ex shocks, But they are about 3/4in longer!

Check that out, and get back to me on that, I was in the shop when they where trying to put patte440s 450r shocks on his old 440 to just set there, and they where saying that it was hittin!
I didnt see it first hand, cuz i was workin on my quad, BUT they didnt put the shock on, they just let the thing sit on the skid plates!

i think the 400ex rear shock is decent enough. If you want to do a cheap all-around suspension upgrade i guess you can get the 450r fronts and rebuild the 400ex rear.

or you could just buy works for a little bit more...

He is right, If u where to get say the GT thunder linkage, and rebuild/valve the shock it would be hand down better than stock!

What is the advantage of GT thunder linkage on a stock swingarm? Will the the skid plate still work?

The frame mount won't let the 450 shock bolt up without grinding the mount! Does lower the rear quite a bit if you can get it on!

Theres a really good thread about the GT Link.

I just bought one and got it installed yesterday. Lowered the back of the quad down about 2.25 inches. :eek2: But that was really no surprise. I am sending my shock off tomorrow for revalving, and in my case, a new spring.

The link hangs down almost an inch lower than stock, so notching is needed. Orrrrr I considered placing some 1" spacers on the front of the PRM skid.... but I think I decided that I would make two cuts on the skid, bend it out or down and then get some aluminum to fill the area where I made my cuts and "pull downs" at. Unfortunately, I do not have a tig. :(
