i bought a set of BFG All-Terrain tires for my dakota about a month ago. i mounted the 2 back ones in shop class today. they get amazing traction on dirt/mud, but on pavement, they will break loose very easily. my dakota has a 3.9 v6. the old tires on the rear of it may as well have been drag slicks, there was literally no tread left. they would chirp a bit when taking off, but the BFG's spin all the way through first gear:eek2:i'd better go easy on the gas before my $450 worth of tires gets ground down to nothin. my gosh, i was turning out of the auto shop and the rear end broke loose on me (not on the gas hard either) lmao. though i was gonna get chewed out by my teacher. he was like " next time light those f**ckers right up" my shop classes kick arse:devil:

I think you missed the point of that statement.

Mine do the same thing and I have a 2wd 4cyl Nissan Frontier. They are pretty bad in the rain but they do very well offroad. Of course they aren't a mud tire but they hold their own.

I am on my second set now and very happy with them the first set lasted over 50,000 miles. My truck just must be weak cus it will not spin them on dry pavement!

I have owned a few Nissan 4wd trucks, all have come with BFG tires.
I currently have an Xterra 4wd and a Frontier Crew Cab 4wd.

I drove about 75,000 on the original tires on my Xterra before I had to replace them. About 80% highway miles. this second set has been more city-type driving, I have not had as much luck. I hope to get 45,000 out of them.

On my Frontier I noticed the BFG's that came stock were wearing at a very fast pace. To my surprise, Nissan could not cover or adjust the tires. I had to go through BFG. BFG is owned by Michelin. I was lucky and they gave me about a 50% discount on my next set. Here's the catch, I had to purchasee the new set through a DEALER, not Wal-Mart or Sam's or a 'discount" store. I basically got $200.00 tires for $105.00 (each).

I had cooper discovere S/T's on my pathfinder and they were the same way man since it was only 2wd i tried 2 get a more aggresive tire and boy did it do good in the mud.....But it could spin em on pavement easlily 2 and man when it was wet out it was hard 2 keep them hooked up i slid around turns all the time............well till i slid the whole way around one time and totalled it :( :ermm:

and mango hate to burst you bubble but bfg allterrains are not 200 bucks even 105 each sounds a little high for 50% off. i had a set of bfg allterrains 31x10x15 that cost me 95 each (at a real tire store)

just my .02 cents

look jackass, that's right, i'm calling you a jackass, reread what i said before. i'm not claiming that my truck is a powerhouse putting out crazy amounts of horsepower. in fact, the thing is actually down on power. that is why i said that i was surprised that they spin like they do.

i've been driving this truck for about 2 weeks now, and i'm happy with it. it's a nice truck, paid a good price for it. no, it's not a full sized truck. but for me to go and buy a full size truck with the kind of money i make working my butt off after school for 5 hours each night, it would be a beater. so i went with a midsize, so i could get something newer and nicer. see how my gears spin jackass?;)

and now for a reply to the other stupid thing you said, jackass...

the tires will spin on dry pavement, all the way through first. believe me if you want to, if you don't, it doesn't bother me.
what do i care if a jackass in michigan doesn't care for my truck or how i drive it?:p

so jackass, before you say something stupid again and reveal the true jackass that you are, i'd suggest thinking carefully and reading and comprehending what you have read before giving your $0.02.

no hard feelings jackass:blah:

Retail price on 285/75/16 is like $830 for all 4 mounted and ballanced. 105 at half price sounds right on!
