I am installing a 11 to 1 compression, 88mm piston and I was wondering if that is 11 to 1 with the xr or the trx gasket. Or do I need a special gasket to get it to be an actual 11 to 1 thank you!

I believe the 11:1 is with the stock gasket thickness. The XR gasket is a little thinner, so it will bump it up a little;)

If the gaskets are the same thickness and the piston kit is for the trx than it would be 11.1, but youll be ok even if you go to 12.1 or 12.5 with premium 94 octane.

12:1 and 12:5:1 should be run with more than 93 even if its just 100 octane detenation does occur with pistons with that high of compression without high enough compression coulsing pinging and knocking.

O yea and the 11:1 should be a true 11:1 as long as the piston is made for the trx.

these pistons were actually designed for the xr. the compression ratings, as far as i know, are off for the ex. i don't think any are right unless you get them specifically cut for the ex by and engine builder. i would run the thin cosmetic flexsteel headgasket and get the cosmetic base gasket too. or, you don't have to run a base gasket and run hondabond in its place.
