Stock Stud Removal

whats the proper way to remove the stock studs from the hubs?? im tired of buying new bolts hammering them out :rolleyes:

put the nut on the end and make it flush with the bolt then hit it LIGHTLY with a hammer it will come out sooner or later,lol
or if you have a vice in your garage or w/e you can press it out,just drill a hole in a 2x4(so the stud will go through) thenput it in the vice and tighten the vice till it comes out

it is well worth saving yourself the hastle and take it to a mchine shop if you have one around and have the press out the old one and in the new one!

i always just tap them out...with like a brass hammer or something.

Either use a press (the proper way) or else use a large c-clamp and put a large, deep well socket over the back of the stud. Put the clamp onto the back of the socket and press the stud out backwards. Reverse the position of the socket for installation.

Just out of curiosity why are you taking out the stock studs so much? I mean i really can't think of anything that requires you to take them out. I was just wondering.

at first i was gonna pc them but i decided just to paint, anyway i like nice neat jobs so im taking them out, well i did

I just use a rubber mallet, doesn't damage them at all, and they just pop right out.

acoupel reasons I have taken them out in the past. one is to PC them, and to put speed studs in!
