Definitely get the HD rod if your running compression that high. Its nasty what a broken rod can do to your bottom end.

Would I need to do it with an 11.1 compression?

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea

id have to disagree with that one...i actually like my cereal without milk. well unless its rice crispies or chex or cheerios..otherwise NO MILK! yeah i know im strange....

but to answer your question yes your prob gonna want a heavy duty rod for that bad boy

with an 11:1 you should be ok with the stock rod but it would be a nice idea to put one in anyway.
with anything above that like say a 21.1: or the 13:1 you would for sure need a heay duty rod or the stocker will break in no time.

Cram it dood. If ya dont have anything useful to help this guy out, then keep it to yourself.

As for the question, Id recommend running a HD Rod as well. Its just like insurance, it might come in useful, or might not; but youre sure glad that you have it in the time of need.

i would go ahead and get one..

i dont know about your particular bike but on my yfz a 13:1 isnt a very good choice and the 12:5 makes more power and runs cooler.. i dont know all the tech details on why this is but you can serach yfzcentral...

just research on the compression before you throw it in your bike..

sounds to me you are building a sleeper:devil:

YOU GET EM QJ:blah:

Ok now back to the post LOL, we were just going thru all this too w/ my 300, we have an 81mm cylinder we were gonna run on it BUT then your getting into all kinds of stuff & $$ I would have to have a new rod, cases bored, ect ect ect :(:( I"m a sad girl now BUT I want the reliablity to be there also for the trails so we are just gonna leave it as it is & the boy will have to ride the hell out of it to keep up or pass the others :) there's only one realy threat to him now & it's a 330 that rocks! If we had all the dough we would do it, BUT for just 7 races I don't see it happening, he's retired the blaster & I'm sure after this season he'll be done w/ the 300 especially since he moved up to the 450 now all the rest are slugs LOL :)

Sooooo I think I may be selling this cylinder(81mm) it will need to be resleeved the sleeve is broke, probably some stock rockers/cover, stock cam in good shape, stock 300 carb, stock front bumper, stock 400 heel guards, stock 400 skid plate, & there may be more :)
