I have always used 8" paddles in the past. I have never been on a quad with 10" paddles oddly enough. Is the 10" ride noticably rougher than the 8's or 9's?

I have a brand new set of 10" wheels that I could use but I don't want a rough ride and I don't want to waste my time ordering and mounting, etc.... if it's not what I will like.

I must admit that the 10" wheels look better but I'm too old to worry about how I look.

What has been your experiences??

Thanks guys, -RT

I run 10s and I haven't noticed a problem with the ride quality. RM screwed up and sent me 10 paddle though so they kinda bog down the 416 up top.

I have 10s and they seem fine but if you do any jumping it tends to put flat spots in the junky.125 rims. The 8s or 9s might be a little more forgiving.

I have ITP T-9 10" wheels with Sand Stars, and they seem to work just fine.

I don't think they ride any rougher than when running smaller wheels, and IMHO, they look a heck of a lot cooler... :)

I run 8's and love them. I have heard that some guys have problems with bigger paddles.

8" rim and time combos have less rotational inertia than a 10" combo. This will translate to faster acceleration with 8". It could very well mean the difference between winning and losing to an identical motor, but it's not going to make enough difference to allow a stock 400EX beat some of the newer 450's.

Less sidewall on the 10" means less flex and roll in the corners, especially with the low pressures that you would normally use riding on sand. This may or may not be a big issue for you.
