I was at the shop last night and the owner told me it would be about 500$ to get my 400ex engine done. Plus the other $400ish i would wanna spend on the suspension. While I was there I saw a nice 2000 CR250 with a FMF pipe and tons of extras for $2500. Now i am having thoughts about just selling the 400EX and getting the cr250. Someone with a 250 please tell me how you like it and if its worth getting. thanks

Yah I just sold my Rm 125 and kind of regret it but im not sure which one ( 400ex or Cr250 ) i want to spend some money on. Oh ya, the 250's top end was just rebuilt.

:huh 2 months....most crf only get 2 montsh before a rebuild i think cr 250 has to be every 7-12 hrs, thats what my rm was, the only mx bike ive heard that last a season without a rebuild is a yzf motor, crfs, every 2-3 months, and most of the 2 strokes are about 12 hrs of use-racing and about 25 recreational riding...lugging a motor is bad too so dont buy a cr if your not confident you can run the bike how its made to, honestly if you want to switch to bikes a better choice would be a crf or yzf

I had one for 4 years, but I gave her up for a 400ex. They're a big step from a cr125!! I used to rebuild mine every month, if it needed it or not,but that's because I was racing it, HARD!! I think I rode it almost every day. It all depends an how hard and how often you ride em' A buddy of mine rebuilt his every 1 1/2 to 2 years. A twosmoke is alot easier and cheaper to rebuild than a fourstroke!! Make sure you know how to ride one, or any twosmoke bike for that matter, before you consider buying it. You can't let them idle, and don't even think of lugging them!!
